援引Steamgift论坛的消息，Steam API从即日起将无法检测到之前与Valve断绝合作的公司产品。这次改动并不是一个前置程序，而是整个系统内部的机制变化。也就是说，当玩家拥有那些被ban掉的游戏和产品时，它们将不再显示于游戏库列表中，也不再被算入游戏持有数里。
换句话说，如果玩家拥有的产品来自那些与Valve不再有合作关系的厂商，那么这些游戏会在steam上显示“尚未被激活”。由于Steamgift的白名单尚未添加这些处于灰色地带的游戏，如果它们作为礼物赠送，赠送方是无法查看礼物激活状态的（也就是说尽管显示尚未激活，但很有可能已经被接收者使用了）。
